POETIC FOOTBRIDGE
CONSTRUCTION FORM
Our task:
To design a poetic footbridge across university lake at Taman Tropika with expressive structure form,material, construction and joinery with sense of craftsmanship and artistry.This project is emphasis on the space from one point to one point.
THE CONCEPT and IDEA
My approach is by using Santiago Calatrava's bridge as precedence and develop in own self idea.The bridges of Calatrava are the thought of analogously to the biological body.
The structure is converted into a diagram of forces, like a dynamo graphic system that directly expresses the stresses that animate the constructed organism.Skeleton of human being or living organism is the good example in the structure.
The idea of bridges revolutionized, turning them from dull, utilitarian, mechanical instruments, into elegant objects that combine technology with the poetry to enhance the sense of place and community of their setting.
